A wild flower introduced from southern Europe, and found by road-sides and waste ground mainly in the south of England. A vigorous plant forming bright green leafy clumps of pinnate foliage, and bearing in summer and early autumn long-stalked clusters of numerous pale lilac or rarely white, pea-like flowers.
