Increase the Unsaturated Fatty Acid Content of Crops

Lifeasible provides double-stranded RNA-mediated post-transcriptional gene silencing technology, which plays an important facilitating role in the study of enhancing unsaturated fatty acid content in crops; we mainly use reverse repetitive sequence gene silencing constructs to transform plants that can be transcribed into mRNA in vivo and can self-complement to form hairpin RNA (hpRNA), which contains a double-stranded RNA structure that can lead to degradation of the specific gene-encoded mRNA. We mainly use hpRNA gene silencing technology to suppress the expression of major related genes encoding crop fat dehydrogenase, thereby increasing the unsaturated fatty acid content of crops and improving their nutritional value. This technology provides an important research strategy for a further selection of genetically stable and good trait crops or varieties with a high unsaturated fatty acid content. It has more economical, fast, and efficient technical features.
