We will then analyze the predicted secondary structure of gene family proteins to obtain the proportion of irregularly coiled, extended chains, alpha-helices, and beta-turned angles and to speculate on the parts of the secondary structure that play a crucial role. Subcellular localization then allows inference of the specific regions of the gene family where the function is achieved.

  • Analysis of Gene Family Structure and Evolution

We use the Gene Structure Display System (GSDS) to analyze the Exon/Intron composition of the plant gene family. This is combined with phylogenetic analysis to explore the patterns of gene family evolution in gene structure.
