Applications
It is used to treat gastrointestinal spasm, biliary colic, renal colic or gastrointestinal hypermotility caused by various causes. Scopolamine butyrate can also be used for uterine cramps. It is used for preoperative preparation of fiber endoscopy of stomach, duodenum and colon to reduce intestinal peristalsis. Scopolamine butyrate can also be used for endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography to inhibit intestinal peristalsis before or during surgery. Scopolamine butylbromide can also be used for gastric, duodenal, colon gastrobarium hypotonic radiography or abdominal CT scan to reduce or inhibit intestinal peristalsis.
