Analysis of Nitric Oxide and Protease Inhibitor-Based Immunity in Plants

Nitric oxide (NO) is one of only a handful of gaseous signaling molecules. NO is now emerging as a critical signaling molecule in plants, where it orchestrates a plethora of cellular activities associated with growth, development, and environmental interactions. Prominent among these is its function in plant hypersensitive cell death and disease resistance. Besides, heterologous expression of various protease inhibitors, including trypsin and cysteine protease inhibitors, confer resistance against plant nematodes, showing the effectiveness of protease inhibitor-based immunity against plant nematodes.

Lifeasible makes full use of our specialized libraries, selection strategies, and maturation techniques to analyze NO and protease inhibitor-based immunity against the attack of plant nematodes. With advanced technology and experienced staff, we provide comprehensive plant nematode services for global clients to support their research.

Analysis of Nitric Oxide in Response to Plant Nematodes

  • NO is believed to be an essential regulatory molecule that has multiple functions in plants. Furthermore, the essential role of NO in plant signaling networks has been widely observed in different plant species and organs under various biotic stress conditions, such as viral diseases, bacterial pathogen exposure, fungal infections, and insect herbivore exposure.

  • Treatment with sodium nitroprusside (SNP), an exogenous NO donor, reduces the number of egg masses and restores the growth inhibition associated with plant nematodes, suggesting that NO plays a positive role in immunity. NO may be involved in the jasmonic acid (JA)-dependent nematode defense pathway, as an NO scavenger, partially inhibits JA-induced RKN defense responses.
  • Lifeasible provides analysis services of NO in response to plant nematodes, including monitoring the content of NO in the resistant and susceptible cultivars, observation of plant immunity against plant nematodes with the treatment of SNP, exploring the effects of exogenous NO and JA on defense responses against plant nematodes, silencing and/or overexpressing the key gene affects JA- and NO-involvement in plant nematode defense, etc.

Analysis of Protease Inhibitor-Based Immunity in Response to Plant Nematodes

  • High levels of protease inhibitors found in the plants serve as regulators of endogenous enzymes and as defensive agents against attacks by animal predators and insect or microbial pests.
  • We provide analysis services of protease inhibitor-based immunity against the attack of plant nematodes, including trypsin inhibitors and cysteine protease inhibitors. Specifically, our services list includes the detection of inhibitor expression in plants, field trial design and nematode infection, characterization of the population of nematodes, containment trials, nematode recovery and measurement, and so on.

Lifeasible offers professional services covering plant immune responses in response to nematodes to meet your research needs. With years of experience in plant sciences, our advanced platforms can help our clients solve various difficulties and conduct research.
