Actinomycete Isolation Agar is used for isolation and propagation of Actinomycetes from soil and water.

Cream to yellow homogeneous free flowing powder
Characteristic
Cultural characteristics observed after an incubation at 35-37 centigrade for 40-72 hours.
Reaction of 2.2% w/v aqueous solution containing 0.5%v/v glycerol at 25 centigrade. pH : 8.1±0.2.
Storage
Store below 30 centigrade in tightly closed container and the prepared medium at 2 - 8 centigrade.
Instructions
Suspend 21.70 grams in 1000 ml distilled water containing 5 ml glycerol. Heat to boiling to dissolve the medium completely.Dispense as desired. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121 centigrade) for 15 minutes.
