Phytopathogenic Microbe starch peptone agar base(With CV) is semi selective medium for the detection of Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. phaseoli in seeds of beans on the basis of starch hydrolysis.

Cream to yellow coloured, homogeneous, free flowing powder
Characteristic
Cultural characteristics observed with added CNFT supplement, after an incubation at 25-30 centigrade for 5-6 days.
Storage
Store below 30 centigrade and the prepared medium at 2 - 8 centigrade.
Instructions
Suspend 60.25 grams in 990 ml distilled water. Add 10 ml of Tween 80. Heat to boiling to dissolve the medium completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121 centigrade) for 15 minutes. Cool to 45-50 centigrade. Aseptically add the contents of one vial of CNFT supplement. Mix well and pour into sterile Petri plates.
