Pseudomonas Agar (For Pyocyanin) is recommended for the detection of pyocyanin production by Pseudomonas species.
Form
Light yellow coloured, may have slightly greenish tinge, homogeneous, free flowing powder
Characteristic
Cultural characteristics observed after an incubation at 35 - 37 centigrade for 18 - 24 hours.
Reaction of 4.64% w/v aqueous solution (containing 1% v/v glycerol) is pH 7.0 ± 0.2 at 25 centigrade.
Storage
Dry Storage : Storage : Medium - Below 30 centigrade, Prepared Medium 2 - 8 centigrade.
Instructions
Suspend 46.4 grams in 1000 ml distilled water containing 10 ml glycerol. Boil to dissolve the medium completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121 centigrade) for 15 minutes.
