Rose Bengal Chloramphenicol Agar is used for selective isolation and enumeration of yeasts and moulds from foods and environmental materials.
Form
Light yellow to pink homogeneous free flowing powder
Characteristic
Cultural characteristics observed after an incubation at 25-30 centigrade for 5 days.
Reaction of 3.22% w/v aqueous solution at 25 centigrade. pH : 7.2±0.2.
Storage
Store between 15-25 centigrade in tightly closed container and the prepared medium at 2 - 8 centigrade.
Instructions
Suspend 32.15 grams in 1000 ml distilled water. Heat to boiling to dissolve the medium completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121 centigrade) for 15 minutes. Mix thoroughly and pour into sterile Petri plates.
