Yeast Mannitol Agar w/ Congo Red is used for cultivation of Rhizobium species.

Light yellow to pink homogeneous free flowing powder
Characteristic
Cultural characteristics observed after an incubation at 25-30 centigrade for upto 2-5 days.
Reaction of 3.18% w/v aqueous solution at 25 centigrade. pH : 6.8±0.2.
Storage
Store below 30 centigrade in tightly closed container and prepared medium at 2-8° C.Use before expiry period on the label.
Instructions
Suspend 31.82 grams in 1000 ml distilled water. Heat to boiling to dissolve the medium completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121 centigrade) for 15 minutes. Mix well and pour into sterile Petri plates.
