Norris Glucose Nitrogen Free Medium is used for the cultivation of chemoheterotrophic bacteria that can fix atmospheric nitrogen.

Off-white to yellow homogeneous free flowing powder
Characteristic
Cultural characteristics observed after an incubation at 25-30 centigrade for 48-72 hours.
Reaction of 1.25% w/v aqueous solution at 25 centigrade. pH : 7.0±0.2.
Storage
Store below 30 centigrade in tightly closed container and the prepared medium at 2 - 8 centigrade.
Instructions
Suspend 12.5 grams in 1000 ml distilled water. Heat just to boiling. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121 centigrade) for 15 minutes. Mix well and dispense as desired.
