Used to detect antibodies to foot-and-mouth disease virus type A in the serum of pigs, cattle, and sheep.

Foot-and-Mouth Disease Virus Type A Antibody Test Strip is based on the principle of the colloidal gold immunochromatographic assay (GICA). After the sample is added to the sample well, it migrates along the chromatographic membrane together with the colloidal gold conjugate. If anti-FMDA antibodies are present in the sample, they bind to the colloidal gold conjugate and the antigen on the test line, resulting in a purple-red color. If no anti-FMDA antibodies are present in the sample, no color reaction occurs.
