Soluble Collagen Assay Kit allows for quantification of newly synthesized (acid-soluble) collagen levels in tissues and cultured cell medium. The assay involves extraction of soluble collagen in acetic acid, followed by enzymatic degradation of collagen into glycine-rich oligopeptides, which are quantified using a fluorogenic reagent and developer solution that selectively react with the N-terminal glycine fragments to form a stable fluorescent complex (Ex/Em = 376/468 nm). The assay is more sensitive and selective than dye-binding (Picrosirius Red) soluble collagen assays, is simple to perform and has a linear range from 0.05 – 2 μg collagen per well (2.5 μg/ml to 100 μg/ml in a 20 μl sample volume).

The Starch Assay Kit provides an easy, accurate assay to measure starch levels in a variety of samples. In the assay, starch is hydrolyzed to glucose which is oxidized to generate color (570 nm) and fluorescence (Ex/Em = 535/587 nm). The assay can detect starch at 0.0004 to 2 mg/ml.

Total Bile Acid Assay Kit provides a simple, sensitive, and high-throughput adaptable approach to detect physiological concentration of total bile acids in a variety of biological fluids. The principle of the assay is based on an enzymatic cycling method in the presence of NADH and a chromophore. The reduction of the chromophore produces a stable colorimetric product the absorbance of which can be followed kinetically at 405 nm. This absorbance is directly proportional to the amount of TBA in the sample. Our assay is very specific and sensitive. Other metabolites found in biofluids do not interfere with the assay. The assay can detect as little as 1 µM of Bile Acids in a variety of samples.

The Cholesterol/Cholesteryl Ester Quantitation Kit provides a simple method for sensitive quantification of free cholesterol, cholesteryl esters, or both using a colorimetric method. Most of the cholesterol in blood is in the form of cholesteryl ester. These esters can be hydrolyzed to free cholesterol under the appropriate conditions. In the assay, free cholesterol is oxidized by cholesterol dehydrogenase to generate NADH which reacts with a sensitive probe resulting in strong absorbance at 450 nm. The assay can detect free or total cholesterol depending upon whether esterase is utilized to hydrolyze cholesterol esters present. Cholesteryl ester can be determined by subtracting the value of free cholesterol from the total cholesterol (cholesterol plus cholesteryl esters). The probe in this kit is more stable, sensitive and specific. The assay can tolerate interferences from various samples significantly.

The Cholesterol/Cholesteryl Ester Quantitation Kit provides a simple method for sensitive quantification of free cholesterol, cholesteryl esters, or both by colorimetric or fluorometric methods. Majority of the cholesterol in blood is in the form of cholesteryl esters which can be hydrolyzed to cholesterol by cholesterol esterase. Cholesterol is then oxidized by cholesterol oxidase to yield H₂O₂which reacts with a sensitive cholesterol probe to produce color (λmax = 570 nm) and fluorescence (Ex/Em = 535/587 nm). The assay detects total cholesterol (cholesterol and cholesteryl esters) in the presence of cholesterol esterase or free cholesterol in the absence of cholesterol esterase in the reaction. Cholesteryl ester can be determined by subtracting the value of free cholesterol from the total (cholesterol plus cholesteryl esters).

Collagen Assay Kit is a simple and sensitive assay to detect small amounts of collagens in a variety of samples. The assay is based on the acid hydrolysis of samples to form hydrolysates and Hydroxyproline. This released Hydroxyproline gets oxidized to form a reaction intermediate, which further in the reaction, forms a chromophore (Abs 560 nm). The assay is simple, sensitive and specific for collagen and can detect as low as 0.5 µg of collagen in a variety of samples such as tissue homogenates, biological fluids and purified proteins.

Total Collagen Assay Kit II (Perchlorate-Free) is a quick and convenient protocol for detection of small amounts of collagen in a variety of biological samples. The assay is based upon hydrolysis of samples to yield free Hyp, which is oxidized and reacted to give a brightly-colored chromophore with an absorbance peak at 560 nm. The assay employs a proprietary acidic developer solution to accurately measure collagen in hydrolysates without the use of hazardous perchloric acid, obviating the need for any special handling and waste-disposal protocols. The assay can detect a minimum of 0.5 µg collagen per well in a 96-well format and generates colorimetric results that are virtually identical to those of the classical perchloric acid-based method.

Tyrosine Assay kit is a simple, yet sensitive assay that is able to detect normal and abnormal concentrations of Tyr in biological fluids. The assay is based on the enzymatic oxidation of Tyr producing a stable signal (OD 492 nm), which is directly proportional to the amount of Tyr. Sample preparation is minimal and does not require strenuous or complicated procedures. The assay can detect as low as 50 µM of Tyr in a variety of biological samples.
